As much as we want our students to succeed, sometimes we feel as though our hands are tied. Unless they are motivated to do the work and come to class, we know that the likelihood that they will succeed is low. This work-shop will unpack the roles and responsibilities of students and faculty per-taining to student motivation and success. It will provide an overview of the literature on the factors that influence student motivation. Faculty will then work together to review case studies based on the real-life experiences of CHSS faculty and students in an effort to identify solutions and share effective practices and lessons learned.
